1. SMT Printer
Its role is to use a scraper to leak the solder paste or patch glue onto the PCB's pads to prepare for component placement. The equipment used is a SMT stencil printer stencils and doctor blades (metal or rubber), located at the forefront of the SMT production line. It is recommended to use a medium-sized screen printing table, a precision solder paste printer method to fix the template on the screen printing table, determine the position of the PCB on the screen printing platform by the up and down and left and right knobs on the manual screen printing table, and then fix this position; The applied PCB is placed between the screen printing platform and the template, and a solder paste is placed on the screen (at room temperature), keeping the template and the PCB parallel, and the solder paste is evenly coated on the PCB. During use, pay attention to cleaning the template with alcohol in time to prevent the solder paste from blocking the leak of the template.
Its role is to accurately mount surface-mounted components to a fixed position on the PCB. The equipment used is a placement machine (automatic, semi-automatic or manual), a vacuum suction pen or tweezers, located behind the PCB printing machine in the SMT production line. For laboratory or small batches, a double-tip antistatic vacuum suction pen is generally recommended. In order to solve the problem of placement and alignment of high-precision chips (chip pin pitch 0.5mm), it is recommended to use Samsung's automatic multifunctional high-precision placement machine (model SM421 can improve efficiency and placement accuracy). The vacuum suction pen can directly pick up the resistors, capacitors and chips from the component rack. Because the solder paste has a certain viscosity, the resistors and capacitors can be directly placed at the desired position; for chips, a suction cup can be added to the vacuum suction pen tip The amount of suction can be adjusted by the knob. Remember to pay attention to the alignment position no matter what kind of components are placed, if the position is misplaced, you must clean the PCB with alcohol, rescreen, and reposition the components.
3. Reflow oven
Its role is to melt the solder paste, so that the surface mount components and PCB are firmly brazed together to achieve the electrical performance required by the design and precisely controlled in accordance with the international standard curve, which can effectively prevent thermal damage and deformation of the PCB and components. . The equipment used is a reflow furnace (automatic infrared hot air reflow furnace), which is located behind the placement machine in the SMT production line.
4. PCB cleaning machine
Its role is to remove the substances on the mounted PCB that affect electrical properties or soldering residues such as flux, etc. If no-clean solder is used, it is generally not necessary to clean. For products that require micro-power consumption or good high-frequency characteristics, cleaning should be performed. General products can be cleaned. The equipment used is an ultrasonic cleaning machine or direct manual cleaning with alcohol, and the position may not be fixed.
5. Inspection machine:
Its role is to inspect the soldering quality and assembly quality of the mounted PCB. The equipment used is a magnifying glass, a microscope, and the location can be configured at a suitable place on the production line according to the needs of inspection.
6. Rework
Its role is to rework the PCB that detects a failure, such as defects such as solder balls, solder bridges, and open circuits. The tools used are smart soldering irons, rework stations, etc. Placed anywhere on the production line.
